I Dedicate This Website To Our Incomparable Guide:
* Prem Dahal *

Prem

Prem, with his warm and loving personality, safely took us trekking through the Himalays with amazing gusto, enthusiasm and knowledge.  If I had a son I would want him to be just like Prem.

Prem's website is:

www.greathimalayantreks.com

His Amazing Cousin:
* Hem Raj Adhikari *

Hem

We originally contracted Hem to be our guide however just before the trek he developed a bronchial infection.  His doctors advised him not to go so he called upon his cousin Prem to be our guide.  We did spend much time with Hem before and after the trek.

Hem's Websites are:

www.trekkingannapurna.blogspot.com

Our SUPERMAN Porter:
Krishna

A guy just a little bigger than me, who carried all my stuff, all of my trekking companion Happy’s stuff and his own stuff (probably more than 60 pounds) on his back for eleven days up to a height of 13,700 feet.

ALL THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE WHO WENT THROUGH SO MUCH AND SUFFERED SO MUCH AS A RESULT OF THE DEVASTATING EARTHQUAKES OF 2015

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

These earthquakes destroyed not just buildings but also so many lives (more than 9,000) as well as evidence of Nepali culture.  In addition, more than 23,000 people were injured.

When I began to create this website I was totally excited about showing off the beauty and magnificence of Nepal from its ancient temples and incredible culture to the splendid indescribable panorama of the Himalayan Mountains.

Now it is a completely different story.  Many of the things you will see on the website do not exist anymore or are in a state of disrepair.  You will be seeing things as they were PRE-EARTHQUAKE.

It is very tempting to go straight to the Annapurna Trek link on the following page, however, I hope you will take the time to go through the entire website starting from the beginning to get the full benefit of a country that I fell in love with. It will be a long journey but by doing so I hope you can get a sense of the magic that I felt while being there.

If you like what you see please pass this site onto others (copy and paste into your email):

www.hsorkin.com/Travel/Nepal

and if you or any of the people you know would be interested in going to Nepal Prem or Hem would be happy to hear from you. Links to their websites are above.

ENJOY!

Howie
