Cuba's Architecture P.1
Cuba’s architecture is a photographer’s paradise. The buildings are spectacular. Every building is more beautiful than the next. The only problem is they are crumbling.
When the wealthy fled the country before the revolution they left behind their vacant homes. The poor then moved in dividing these buildings first in half, then in fourths, then in sixteenths and so forth. What used to be magnificent three and four story mansions are now home to 40 or 50 families. Some families are living several generations in one room. We visited with some of these people and curiously, they seem to be happy people. They live very poorly but at least they have a home. Music is heard anywhere you go.
Below are some examples of the many many beautiful buildings that need some tender loving care.
