South America is a place that seems to be put on the back burner with many people I know. This is probably because of our roots in Europe. We seem to prefer to go there. Truthfully, I never had a strong desire to go to South America until after my trip to Antarctica when I got a taste of the beauty of Buenos Aires, visited Ushuaia and experienced the grandeur of Iguazú Falls. I returned a second time to Buenos Aires and in the same trip visited Bogotá, Colombia, Montevideo, Uruguay and Santiago, Chile. I began to learn more about what South America has to offer, and although I still have a lot to go I managed to check off five things on my bucket list that knew I wanted to see (Lake Titicaca, The Equator - in Quito, Ecuador, The Galapagos, Machu Picchu and Rio de Janeiro) as well as one other place that I did not realize should have been on my bucket list and that was - La Paz, Bolivia.
I have not done a website on my travels to Buenos Aires, Iguazú Falls, Montevideo, Bogotá or Santiago. Maybe I will get around to it someday, but for now I present to you the sites (on the left) which cover places that I visited in Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil. I really hope you enjoy looking at what I have done and I welcome any comments that you may have.
I also want to thank my good friend, travel mate and "brother" Jerry for letting me include many of his pictures on this site.
